“Żgħażagħ tad-dinja, ingħaqdu”: din hi l-istedina li Chiara Lubich għamlet lill-ġenerazzjonijiet iż-żgħar 60 sena ilu, sabiex kull wieħed u waħda minnhom ikun jista’ jwieġeb għas-sejħa ta’ Alla biex jgħix għall-għaqda b’mod konkret.
Margaret Karram, il-President tal-Moviment tal-Focolare, tkellmet waqt il-Genfest 2024 f’Aparecida (il-Brażil) dwar it-tema tal-paċi. Id-diskors tagħha kien parti minn mument iddedikat għal din it-tema u għall-impenn taż-żgħażagħ biex jibnuha kullimkien fid-dinja.
Genfest, the worldwide event-experience organised by the youth of the Focolare Movement, will take place in Brazil, from the 12th to the 24th of July. A further 44 local events will be held in 32 different countries.
The Genfest is held every six years on an international level. This year it will take place for the first time in Brazil, in a journey divided into three phases.
This time round the donated goods will be in support of the St Theresa Home in Nigret, Zurrieq, and will be distributed as part of the United World Week activities during the first week of May.
This year too, the United World Week (UWW) gave space to global events and actions for peace and fraternity that focused on “Caring”, with a particular focus on integral ecology. The #Daretocare Campaign will continue for another year.
