Representatives from 19 countries gathered in Palermo, Sicily, from 7 to 11 October 2026, for the conference entitled “Mediterranean Without Borders”, promoted by the Focolare Movement.
Margaret Karram, President of the Focolare Movement, sent a message to the conference held in Palermo encouraging peace, justice and human development in the Mediterranean region.
Pope Leo XIV met with 83 cardinals and bishops, Friends of the Focolare Movement, coming from 40 countries. He invited them to be, within their local Churches and in a world marked by divisions and conflicts, witnesses to a unity capable of building lasting peace.
