As the months with Covid-19 continue with one wave after another, I noticed that some people on the streets were not looking happy in spite of the fact that we are not in lockdown like so many other places.
“Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over will be put into your lap” (Lk. 6:38).
The Coronavirus pandemic has disrupted programs, systems and procedures in all areas of human life. Something that Chiara Lubich suggested back in 1983 is very up-to-date.
Grateful for the solidarity received and committed together with other various religious communities to help the country rise again and be a messenger of peace.
In an article published in 1948, in the journal “Fides”, Chiara Lubich recounts how, through the example of Claire of Assisi, she and her first companions received confirmation of the genuineness of the evangelical way of life which characterised the growing Movement.
On the feast day of St Claire of Assisi, we publish a spiritual thought by Chiara Lubich which encourages every Christian to put God in the first place of the their life.
A film about Chiara and the beginnings of the Focolare Movement will be aired on RAI UNO, the first channel of Italy’s national state broadcaster, in autumn.
